Looking for Greg?
No, I'm not Greg Moss hiding behind some other name. Nor am I in any
way related to him. Yes, we both juggle,
we have the same last name, and we live in the
same city. That's about as much as I know that we have in common.
I have found him to be a really nice guy,
but it's probably best that I don't pretend to be him. I have a hard
enough time being me. Besides, put to the test, I could never juggle as
well as he does and I'd likely put myself in danger trying to pass clubs
with him. (I wonder if anyone has ever clocked one of his passes with a
radar gun.) Why would I admit that here? Because I know he doesn't do
the balloon stuff that I do.
I also feel it's important to let you know that I feel sort
of funny reading his mail. Unfortunately a number of people had noticed
the above-mentioned similarities and assumed that mail to my address
would reach him. Almost eactly a year ago I asked Greg for his e-mail
address so I would have where to send people that were looking for him.
I'm happy to report that I apparently provided a much needed service by
making Greg's address available here. Several people have taken the time
to let me know that I was key in locating an old acquaintance. Now, in
the last few months, I haven't heard a peep about the issue. Perhaps
it's because Greg has become enough of a net presence himself that people
are able to find him without my help.
Are we related?
That depends to some degree on what ``related'' means to you. I suppose
with a large enough family tree we could tie anyone together. As for a
somewhat close relationship that I can identify, no.
For those wondering, yes, I do actually get questioned about my relationship
to Greg frequently enough to justify mentioning him here.
I was amused to hear that he also gets asked about his
relationship to me. So, to help out, no, he isn't related to me either.
(Interestingly, now that I'm getting my teaching certification, people
want to know if I'm related to Joy Moss, a former professor of mine.
Maybe, but I'll leave that story for a future ``I'm not Joy'' page.)
Get to the point, already
OK, enough rambling. Since Greg is a nice guy, and the folks that have
all sent me mail looking for him have also seemed like nice enough
people, I'm gonna let you all know how to reach him. His address is gamped@rit.edu.
